This last Friday night at El Paso Speedway Park, I learned one of the best lessons a racer can learn. You never give up until the Checkard Flag waves!
In race #1 I had an unfortunate issue with the wall. Race #2 my car had an electrical problem. So I had hopes that Race #3 was going to turn things around and I can finally earn some points towards the championship. I had a solid heat pulling off a 2nd place finish, which set me up for a 10th Place start for the main. Mother Nature decided to play a cruel joke and started to rain when we entered the track. The track was wet and was difficult to navigate, and once again I became aquainted with the wall. My car had to be removed from the track by the hook. The track did pull off the Legends and put the Modifides on to pack the track and run their race. This left me one race to get my car back together and it didn't look good. I thought for sure there was no way I could get it together. The Legends lined up for their race and I still had my tire completely off the car. My papa and I threw everything on the car and I hopped in knowing that the green had already flown. When I entered the track I was 2 laps down, but due to 2 cautions and restarting at the end of the pack each time I earned my 2 laps back. I found myself on the lead lap with a chance to turn things around. I raced with everything I had and moved up to 3rd place, and gave the 2nd place position a run for his money to the flag stand. I had the best race of my life, and I learned a very valuable lesson about never giving up. Thank you to the fans that came up to me after the race and fellow competitors that wondered were the heck I came from. I came from the back 3 times and even though I didn't win, it sure felt like I did. Thank you Papa for your help and encouragement,
